On Friday 18th May 2018 the municipality of Champlitte, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, will host the General Assembly of the European Association of the Vie Francigene (EAVF).
This will be the first EAVF general assembly in France and several initiatives have been planned for the occasion. The meeting organised by the Association Champlitte Patrimoine et Culture di Champlitte with the support of the municipality of Champlitte, the tourist information office and the EAVF, will begin the 18th May at 9:30 with a conference dedicated to "The Via Francigena, development for our territories".
The meeting open to all, will focus on two themes: "Cultural Routes and great pilgrimages" and "Cultural Heritage and the Via Francigena". From 14:30 to 18:30 in the afternoon, the EAVF general assembly will take place with its associates and friends from the four countries crossed by the route. After the assembly, at 19:00, the evening will proceed with a visit to the biological wine cellars of Pascal Henriot and at 20:00 with dinner.
On Saturday 19th May a "sosta e gusta" event will take place in the vineyard. The gastronomic walk will begin at 10:30, departing from the castle to the Pâturie (Augustine convent) zone vineyards. Concerts and exhibitions of a folkloristic group will follow.
The cultural activities planned will enrich the two days with events, such as photographic exhibitions, expositions and guided tours of Champlitte and its castle. A great opportunity to discover the French Via Francigena, its areas and communities.
